MIEL was established in 2011 to promote and publish difficult, innovative, intelligent, and deeply felt writing and visual art. We are dedicated in particular to supporting and promoting the work of women writers, writers of color, and QLGBT writers. Find out more about MIEL here.
If you'd like to hear from us when new books come out, when we're having sales, or about events, you can sign up for the MIEL and Dickinson House newsletters.
We read manuscript submissions in June via Submittable. We read work for our biannual literary magazine 111O much of the year. You can buy a copy of 111O right here.
In fall 2014, we opened Dickinson House, a residency center for artists and writers in rural East Flanders, Belgium. We will offer fellowships for 2016; applications open November 1, 2015. Please see the Dickinson House site for more details.
